So this recipe is straight from the kitchen of Elle’s mom
1-1/2 lbs London Broil (can use sirloin or top ground if necessary)
2 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup dry red wine (Merlot, Shiraz, or Cabernet)
3 Tb cloves garlic, minced
1 Tb chopped fresh oregano (or 1 tsp dried)
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper
In a small bow, whisk together all ingredients. Place steak in large zip lock bag (or bowl) and add whisked ingredients. Lay flat in pan and place flat in refrigerator. Turn once to coat both sides with marinade.
Refrigerate 4 hours at least, or over night. Preheat broiler. Discard marinade and bay leaf. Broil about 5 minutes on each side for medium rare (recommended for best flavor).
Cut into thing, diagonal slices.
Note: may cut recipe in 1/2 for 1/2 piece of meat.
